Wheel alignment (or simply alignment) is standard car maintenance that involves adjusting the angles of the wheels so that they are set to the manufacturer's specifications. The main purpose is to let the suspension and the steering systems operate at their desired angles - this reduces tire wear. Alignment is a complicated process and not all mechanics get it right. To have experts handle your car's alignment, visit Allman's Automotive.
Anti-lock brakes prevent wheel lock-up when rapidly decelerating by automatically modulating the brake pressure during an emergency stop. With this system, the wheels are able to maintain traction with the road while braking. Failure of the anti-lock brakes could lead to an increase in the risks of multiple vehicle crashes and run-off road crashes. To avoid this, have your anti-lock brake system checked and repaired by experts. At Allman's Automotive, we have anti-lock brake experts who will examine and repair your faulty ABS - keeping you safe.
A brake is a mechanical device for slowing or stopping a vehicle (usually by means of friction). In short, a brake inhibits your car's motion. It lets you stop the car whenever and wherever you choose. Brakes are one of the most important parts of a motor vehicle. Without them, you would not be able to stop the car. If your vehicle's brakes are having issues, consider having them worked on. Brake experts at Allman's Automotive can work on your car's brakes to ensure you have a safe drive.
Brake System Flush
Brake fluid is hygroscopic (it absorbs moisture). The absorbed moisture lowers the fluid's boiling point. It also corrodes the lines and cylinders. With the lowered boiling point, the brake fluid could boil during braking which makes you lose braking ability. Although this is an extreme scenario, it does happen in heavy braking. To reduce the effects of the absorbed moisture, auto manufacturers recommend that you have a brake flush done periodically. A brake system flush involves the replacement of used and contaminated fluid with fresh fluid. With Allman's Automotive's quick lube services, you will have a brake system flush performed by brake experts. Call 978-914-7514 or visit Allman's Automotive today.
A chassis is the car's internal framework that supports the body and other parts like the wheels, engine, transmission, driveshaft, differential, and suspension. A weak or damaged chassis will translate to a weak car. To have a strong and properly working vehicle, have your car's chassis checked for defects. At Allman's Automotive, there are experienced undercar service providers who can work on your chassis.
The differential transfers the engine power to the wheels. One important function of the differential is to pass on power to the wheels while allowing them to rotate at different speeds - thus the name differential. When turning, the outer wheels travel a larger distance than the inner wheels do (also the front wheels travel a longer distance than the rear wheels). This means that all four wheels travel at different speeds during a turn and this is where the differential comes in to help. To make sure your vehicle's differentials are working properly, have them checked regularly. Contact Allman's Automotive today for differentials examination and servicing.
The differential is a car part that compensates for the difference in travel distance between the inner wheels and outer wheels when the vehicle is turning. Due to the differential's position in most non-four-wheel-drive (FWD) vehicles (located at the rear and under the car), it does not get any of the star treatment the engine gets. The one thing that every car owner needs to know is that failure of the differential will mean failure of the car. To save the differential from failure, you need to have differential fluid changed every 30,000 to 50,000 miles. Changing the oil on the differential is as important as changing the car's engine oil. Although checking and changing differential oil is pretty easy, you need to visit an auto shop to get a comprehensive differential flush. For differential flush services, visit or call Allman's Automotive in Groveland, MA 01834 today.
In a motor vehicle, an exhaust system is a piping used to guide exhaust fumes away from the engine - usually to the rear of the vehicle. A properly functioning exhaust system not only sounds better, it is better - for you, your car, and the environment. Allman's Automotive has expert technicians to service your car's exhaust system.
A driveline is a part of your motor vehicle that connects the engine and the transmission to the wheel axles. The driveline consists of the parts of the powertrain less the engine and transmission. Failure of the driveline means that the car would not move since energy cannot be transmitted from the engine to the wheel axles. Therefore, make sure that your car's driveline is regularly inspected and serviced. And, at Allman's Automotive, you can have the driveline serviced by experts.
As tires get older, they lose traction and deteriorate from the inside out, increasing the likelihood of a tire bursting. This can cause a rapid loss of control of your vehicle. To have a better performing vehicle, you need to make sure the tires are in good condition. For all your tire needs, contact Allman's Automotive today.
Shocks (or shock absorbers) are mechanical devices designed to smooth out rough roads. The devices do this by converting kinetic energy to another form of energy. Properly working shocks reduce the effect of traveling over rough ground, leading to improved ride quality and vehicle handling. When shocks develop problems, driving on poorly leveled roads becomes unpleasant, and your vehicle may sway when turning. To have your vehicle's shocks diagnosed and repaired, visit Allman's Automotive today.
Much like a shock absorber (shocks), your car's struts provide a dampening effect as you travel over a road's surface. By absorbing the shock of the road, struts allow passengers to ride in a car without constant and uncomfortable motion. Struts work a bit differently than shocks in that they provide structural support for your car's suspension. This means that struts support your car's weight, unlike shocks which only regulate the speed at which the weight is transferred. Struts usually last around 50,000 or 60,000 miles. This is simply because the damping characteristics of the parts gradually deteriorate over time. Call Allman's Automotive at 978-914-7514 if you have questions about the struts on your car. Our expert technicians will diagnose any problems and help you make an informed decision about repairs.
Great work, quick and detailed.

Wonderfully thorough, great mechanic.
As always, Kevin and the crew keep my Rav4 going!!
Outstanding professional service. Great use of technology to enhance the customer service experience. Reasonable prices and quick service.
Timely repairs, very professional, convenient drop off. reasonably priced.
Allman's Auto is a very professional and trustworthy shop with some extremely knowledgeable mechanics. They are easy to work with and won't perform or recommend services you don't need! I also like the technology they use to keep you updated on the status of your service, health of your vehicle, and future appointments.
Kevin and Mike are incredibly skilled at what they do and generous with their time. I had a pre-sale vehicle inspection done here. They took photos of all the areas they inspected and then explained what I was looking at. Thanks to them, I felt comfortable buying the vehicle. Also, these guys have a great sense of humor. Who doesn't need a good laugh?
Kevin and his team are very knowledgeable and they have never taken advantage of me, even suggesting solutions that would save my family money. Everybody needs "a guy" that can help when their car breaks down. Kevin is that guy for me.
If you're looking for a new mechanic, give Kevin a chance. He only has 2 bays, but he's amazing.
Best service I have ever had bar none. Respectful and thoughtful customer service. Above and beyond is their normal idea of work ethic. Will never bring any of my 3 vehicles anywhere else, and always recommend him to everyone I know looking for a mechanic.
I think this is my fourth 5 star review I've left for Allman's, but the first on Google reviews. I have four drivers in my family now and four cars. Ever since I discovered Allman's (in 2015 from reading great reviews) I have gone to them for just about everything. It would be absolutely everything if I lived closer. In my opinion, Kevin is a master diagnostician, and has nailed it the first time on all the tricky problems I have brought to him. They are very thorough when inspecting a car for safety and will tell you the truth about what is really needed and things to keep an eye on. When I bring a car in that isn't riding right, it always leaves the shop riding like new. And I feel like I underpay (don't tell Kevin ;-).
Had a great experience. He helped me figure out exactly why my car wasn't working (when the dealership gave me false information after spending just 5 minutes with my car) and fixed it for less than he originally quoted. He even left it running for an hour AND drove it several miles to make sure it wouldn't break down on me again, giving me peace of mind. Plus, the website they give you explaining every part of your car, including what needs immediate attention and what can wait, is great! Overall quick and helpful service that went above and beyond what I expected. Just wish they were closer, but I was towed there while pretty far from my house.
Very happy with the service we received. Everyone is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I like the constant communication knowing what is going on at all times. No guessing and no surprises. I also enjoy reviewing the very detailed report on what has gone on with each review on all aspects of the car and what was looked at with each maintenance schedule. Well done and keep up the good work. I would certainly recommend Allman's Automotive and rest assured your car will be in good hands.
I WILL NEVER TAKE MY CAR ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!! The owner, Kevin, constantly goes above and beyond to make my car servicing experiences prompt and care-free!!! He's honest and trustworthy which means more to me than anything but you also can't beat his prices!!! I recommend everyone to try him out!!!!
FANTASTIC customer service and excellent work. A friend of mine referred me to Allman's Automotive after I moved to the area and was looking for a good mechanic. I went in for an oil change and battery replacement. The owner, Kevin, was friendly and down-to-earth. I had brought my laptop- Free Wifi and very comfortable waiting area- but hardly got anything done because the service was so quick! Pricing was very affordable and Kevin didn't try to sell me on anything additional, like a lot of other places I've tried. I definitely recommend Allman's Automotive- I'll be back for sure!
Kept my car going well for over 300k miles.
Excellent service, very informative and intuitive inspections. Great communication!
